🎉 In 2026 Webasto celebrates its 125th birthday, which is not just an anniversary, but also marks a new beginning for our company.

The history of Webasto began in 1901 as a small craft business for sheet metal goods such as stamped parts, fittings, and parts for mousetraps. During the 1930s Webasto quickly found its way into the mobility sector, manufacturing luggage racks and mudguards for bicycles. When the automobile gained in importance in the 1930s, Webasto developed the first foldable fabric roof, followed by the first vehicle heater.

Today, Webasto is among the Top 100 global automotive suppliers and like many automotive suppliers, we are currently undergoing a period of profound change. Werner Baier, the great-grandson of our company founder, says about this: “125 years of Webasto means 125 years of courage, change and innovative strength. Our company history shows that we have always been particularly strong when we had the courage to rethink things. This attitude has made us strong, and it will continue to guide us in the future”.
